Approaching that difficult subject…

What to do if your aging or elder loved one doesn’t want help?

Learn strategies, planning and tactics to make it an easy transition for all.

Fast Facts-Did You Know?

About 91 per cent of Ontario seniors have said they want to stay in their homes and live independently for as long as possible.

Successful Results…

Our seniors and their caregivers tend to remain together, not for days and weeks, but for months and years, a tangible testimony to the success of more than 20 years of caring and supporting seniors in their own homes and elsewhere.

More than 20 years…

We are celebrating more than 20 years of caring and supporting older persons; the knowledge and experience of two decades provides our seniors and their families with significant advantages when we provide care and support for them.

Small...

We are purposively a smaller, family-like agency. This means we can be very personally engaged in developing warm, productive, caring, professional relationships with our seniors and families right from the start and throughout our time together.

Fewer...

We interview and evaluate past experience and references of many caregiver/PSWs but fewer are selected to join the LAS caregiver team—and these few are well-trained, dedicated, responsible and warm-hearted professionals.

A priority

Establishing safe, trusting, compatible and happy relationships between our seniors, their families and our caregivers and staff is paramount for us and a first priority. That’s the reason, for example, we carefully match a specific caregiver with the senior and his individual circumstances and personality; and, then, an Introductory Meeting with the Director and caregiver/PSW is arranged at home, at no cost, to help create the best possible relationship right from the start.

Four Values...

The four values and guiding principles of Living Assistance Services are: ongoing and active personal service and engagement; constant care and support of the senior and his/her family; fulfilling the unique needs of each senior and family; and continual communication to ensure happiness of the senior, family and caregiver. These values are embedded in the LAS senior-focused approach and are put into daily practice by LAS and its trusted and dedicated professional caregivers.
